Overview

We have been engaged by Net Zero Marine Services (NZMS) to design and build 2 no. platforms on the River Thames at West India Pier and Lambeth Pier. NZMS is driving the transition to a zero emissions marine environment, with the plan to build shore power infrastructure at strategic locations across the UK, preparing the sector for significant investment in the zero emissions marine market.

We are working with the Distribution Network Operator (UK Power Networks) to extend the High Voltage (HV 11,000 Volts) network to these two locations. The proposed platforms shall be constructed of reinforced concrete, supported on steel tubular piles that will be driven into the riverbed. The platforms will house the substations, with power feeds down the existing marine infrastructure (brow and pontoon) to charging points at the berth.
